I hauled a few new things during the Sephora VIB 15% off sale that's going on right now, and I was itching to try them out. Plus, I dyed my hair (more on that in another post), and that was making me feel EXTRA SASSY. My cheeks always look brighter in real life than in photos; this reminded me a bit of a less-exaggerated china doll look. So much so that I randomly got the song "Coin Operated Boy" stuck in my head! I'm sure the crazy-red hair isn't hurting that effect.
The look:
Here's what I used:
Face: Clinique Redness Solutions Daily Protective Base, NARS concealer (under eyes, on nose, and on chin blemish), MAC Pro Longwear Concealer (on redness on cheeks and near jaw), The Body Shop All In One Face Base patted on t-zone with sponge, Illamasqua cream blusher in Laid (on fullest part of the cheek), NYX blush in Taupe (in contour), Benefit High Beam (to highlight cheek and brow bone), Make Up For Ever Blush Powder in No.5 (on fullest part of cheek), finally I brushed some of the All In One Face Base to blend my cheeks with a fluffy brush.
Eyes: Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream in #13 (lashline to browbone), Make Up For Ever Blush Powder in No. 5 (on outer 1/2 of lid, avoiding lash line), NARS Daphne (wet to line upper lash line, dry in the crease), Inglot matte shadow in 352 (to highlight brow bone and inner corner), Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Baked (on lower lashline), Prestige My Biggest Lashes on upper lashes, Stila Major Lash on outer corner lashes and bottom lashes, Prestige Eyebrow Pencil, Ulta brow gel.
Lips: Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural in N35
Finally gave my brows some much-needed TLC! |

Sorry guys, I feel like everything looks a little bit washed out in my photos... I need better lighting, and a better camera probably couldn't hurt things either. Better add those to the wishlist... Nonetheless, coral and purple with bright sheer pink lips-- very fun! I might try another version of this come summer.
This is such a beautiful look! Especially the blush! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThe MUFE lip colour is lovely, and I love the purples on your eyes. (Also, ohhhhh, boyfriends. I love it when they weigh in on the makeup!)
ReplyDeleteThank you, I was itching to create a look I could wear with that lip color! Haha, my boyfriend tries really hard to be "involved" in the makeup aspect of my life, I have to give him props for that.
DeleteI agree, the blushes that you used really created an awesome glow! All of the colours you used really brighten your face (I think the hair looks pretty awesome, too!)
ReplyDeleteThank you! :) I am definitely feeling the brighter colors lately!
DeleteOh man, boyfriends always ask the most entertaining questions when it comes to makeup and beauty. The coral looks gorgeous on your eyes; I'll have to step out of the box and try that on myself sometime!
ReplyDeleteYou should! I'd love to see your take on coral eyes! My boyfriend's standard makeup question tends to be "Did you do something different with your eyes today than usual?" I mean... Most days there is SOMETHING different, it's not like I have an everyday look that I stick to... Boys! :P
DeleteYou always look so feminine & cute! Pink does suit you Sarah :^)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Vintage! I am pretty girly... I say it proudly!
Deletelovely look, love your hair color
ReplyDeletethanks for visiting my blog, now following ;-)
Thanks so much for checking out my blog! :D
DeleteFun look! Love the purple! Too funny about your boyfriends comment. My husband will ask funny things like that from time to time! I'm liking your hair! Can't wait to see what you did to it :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I will definitely post about my hair in a little bit :)
